They held it till I was able to pick up the gun which was a nice plus since I work through the week and didn’t get off till late. They also sent me an email to make the background check so much easier. I’m very happy with my purchase. Especially when I live three hours away. Carter’s Country Gun shop
8927 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77024
Great selection but beware the used firearms. The one I purchased failed to extract spent casings and when I called about it I was told sales on used guns are final. Not a sorry, not an offer to look it over, just a pretty rude response as soon as I mentioned it was used.-carterscountry.com

Purchasing a Firearm from a Houston Texas Gun Store
What is an FFL and why do I need one?
FFL stands for Federal Firearms License. Normally this is used as a short way of saying a Firearms Dealer.
When buying a firearm through a licensed dealer you can only receive the firearm in accordance with the Brady laws and Gun control Acts.
To do this you must pass a background check and any other requirements your state puts upon you. This is what dealers do for you.
If you buy a gun online and its crossing state lines then it can only ship to a licensed dealer. This dealer then runs the background check and if all goes well gives you the gun. There is usually a fee charged for this.
How do I find an FFL/Dealer to receive the gun I bought?
There are many places to get lists of dealers, however, we have found the best to be the list of Gunbroker Transfer Dealers
To be on the list of dealers at Gunbroker you have to list yourself, so these are all dealers who want to do transfers.
What is a transfer?
This is a short way of referring to the process where a dealer such as us sends a firearm to another dealer who will then transfer it to you after the paperwork/background check are done.
Ok, so how do I buy a gun?
It really is not much different to buying anything else online. The only additional part is that we will ship the gun to the dealer and not you, so we need their info.
- Find your local transfer dealer
- Order your firearm.
- Take note of the Fax number and Email addresses are given at the end of checkout for your dealer to send their license to.
- In the notes section during checkout make a note of your dealer’s name.
- Have your dealer send their license to us with a note giving your order number on it.
- Your firearm then ships to the dealer, tracking will be sent to you so you know when it arrives there.
Please do make sure it is all set up with the receiving dealer or they will reject your firearm and send it back!
How does my Dealer/FFL send a copy of their license?
They can send by fax or by email
How old do I need to be to buy a gun?
You must be 18 years of age or older to purchase a long gun.
You must be 21 years of age or older to purchase a handgun.
Anywhere you cannot buy a gun or has restrictions?
At this time we are unable to ship Handguns to Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, Hawaii, and Washington DC. Local laws may preclude other localities.
California, New York, Hawaii, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey have restrictions on magazine capacity
State and local laws may deny this purchase, please be aware of local ordinances before ordering!
